Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
In a concerning escalation of violence in Manipur, at least four police commandos and a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan sustained injuries in a militant attack in Moreh on Tuesday morning. The incident follows a tragic event in Thoubal district, where four individuals lost their lives and five others suffered critical bullet injuries.
Officials report that the injured have been promptly brought to RIMS Hospital in Imphal for medical attention. The recent surge in violence has prompted the Manipur government to reinforce curfew measures, particularly in response to the heightened tension following ethnic violence that claimed nearly 200 lives last year.
In a video message, Manipur CM N Biren Singh strongly condemned the recent acts of violence, assuring that the police are actively pursuing those responsible for the attack. He urged the residents of Lilong and the public at large to prioritize peace and assured that the culprits would be apprehended and dealt with according to the law.
